Divination

"Does the prophet see the future or does he see a line of weakness, a fault or cleavage that he may shatter with words or decisions as a diamond-cutter shatters his gem with a blow of a knife?"

-Frank Herbert, Dune

The Green Room, Saturday, 11.00am - 6.00pm

Many occultists come into the magical arts following a dabbling in Divination, which could almost be seen as a gateway skill to wider occult capabilities. Certainly, maxims such as "enchant long, divine short" drive us to widen our perception of the world around us, and the most famous occultists in history have a long and colourful association with various forms of Divination. The Green Room downstairs in the Assembly Rooms is your dedicated hub for precognition.

We start our lessons in Divination at 11.00am, where Matthew Levi Stevens will deliver his lecture "The Great Beast's Lesser Known Oracles". Matthew will explore Uncle Al's relationship with Sivination via the Yi King and Ouija Boards,  which we retain incredibly detailed records of thanks to his meticulous magical diary.

Then it's time to get cracking with some practical workshops. At 1.30pm Kim Huggens presents  "Badass Tarot for Everybody", perfect for day one beginners or professional readers. With a whistlestop tour of the essential techniques to become a Badass Tarosophist yourself, Kim's easy style of delivering complex skills and information will make sure you come away with the confidence to make your own readings phenomenal.

Sean Woodward gives the final Divination section at 4.00pm, with "A Hyper Vudu Toolkit" - exploring the range of tools utilised by an initiate of the OTOA-LCN including magickal machines, time-stations, the mirroire fantastique, portals and the use of tarot and devotional and evocationary art. The goal of the workshop is to create an item from the toolkit for each delegate interested in exploring the Voudon Gnostic path in a guided way.

Both Kim and Sean will have copies of their tarot decks (and associated merchandise!)  available in the George and Pilgrim throughout the day, though you can bring any deck to their workshops.

Tickets are on sale from The Visible College's website now, and the AAA Ticket will allow you to book your workshops early!
