2016: The Time of the Gods

As Gordon said when I asked him to speak, "Which forced-metaphor of the Gods this time?" The answer is Time, or rather Aeons.

We are constantly in motion through the dimension of time, and we can estimate the present by knowing where we've been, and where we are going. History and prescience, lending strength to the stability of our concepts of the Now. The biggest questions in the present, 'who are we?' and 'what are we doing?' can be enhanced by the wider context of our past and future actions.

This is why we're looking at the recent past of the Western Mystery Tradition for Friday 8th April's celebration of Liber AL's writing and the Saturday morning lectures, and its current state on Saturday 9th April, and then its future on Sunday 10th April, plus an irreverent party at the Dystopian Ball

At the same time, Paul Weston will introduce and co-ordinate readings of the three chapters of the Book of the Law, across the three days, as it has had a huge effect on the course of the last 111 years of Western Magick. These verses, suggesting that a New Aeon is at hand, still have insight into the strange days we live in, but we won't be delving into the details for the moment.

We'll have workshops by our speakers throughout Saturday, in a longer format to squeeze the most out of these brave souls. We'll also be inviting the local community of magicians, pagans, wizards, and witches to show off Glastonbury's magical talent, by offering taster workshops on the Sunday. Finally, back by popular demand, the local O.T.O. group will put on a celebration of Liber XV: The Gnostic Mass to end the weekend with style and dramatic ritual.

We've looked at the ways in which Occultists can organise themselves into groups, and then how they function as part of a wider Occult movement; we've seen the tools we can employ to go about creating the Universe we wish to live in; now let's understand the journey we've come on, and where we can take it next. Join us next year, in Glastonbury, for the Time of the Gods.
